JayPa's Quarterback Farm System
I was doing a bit of thinking over the past weekend and it occured to me that research was at hand. It occured to me that I couldn't think of a Penn State Quarterback being drafted in the NFL over the past 10 or so years. Well coincidentally, Jay's first year at the helm was 1999. Let's take a look at the draft years and the other Big Ten schools that produced Quarterbacks and compare the list to Penn State's...Here we go!
1999
Ohio State-Joe Germaine
2000
Michigan-Tom Brady
2001
Purdue-Drew Brees
2002
Illinois-Kurt Kittner
Ohio State-Steve Bellisari
Indiana-Antwaan Randle-El
2003
Michigan-Drew Henson
Wisconsin-Brooks Bollinger
Indiana-Gibran Hamdan
2004
Ohio State-Craig Krenzel
Wisconsin-Jim Sorgi
Michigan State-Jeff Smoker
Michigan-John Navarre
2005
Purdue-Kyle Orton
2006
None
2007
Michigan State-Drew Stanton
Ohio State-Troy Smith
2008

Let's break it down...
THE Ohio State University- 4 Indiana-2 Illinois-1
Michigan-4 Wisconsin-2
Michigan State-2 Purdue-2
Hmmm...Interesting...I don't seem to see ANY PENN STATE QUARTERBACKS on that list. Let's just add this to the list of Jay's inept attempts at creating a solid program. I wonder why Tyrell Pryor didn't come to Penn State? Maybe it's because he knew he would never, ever, in a million years, be drafted! Don't you think that other coaches use this during recruiting? What a no-brainer...Jay just doesn't get it and never will.
Even Indiana has 2! Northwestern, Minnesota, Iowa, and yes...PENN STATE have none, we are in great company in the Big Ten! I really hope JayTARD becomes the next head coach so we can join those fine historic programs in all aspects of the game!
Oh yes, please don't forget about Michael Robinson of the 2006 draft, he went in as a running back...great job Jay.
